Hardcover. 12mo. 19cm, first American edition, 348p., rebound in half grey paper over boards, marbled boards, black leather label, gilt titles, original library bookplate on the front endpaper, neat former owner's longer inscription on the front free fly, scattered foxing else near fine thus (gar). ~ A sequel to "Scotland and the Scotch, or, The Western Circuit".(1840): ".she has been so agreeably surprised by the success of her first shot, in bringing down a large covey of readers, she feels encouraged now to discharge a second barrel.".(Author's Preface). A scarce American edition with the library bookplate of the Town of Catskill, New York.
