About This Item
London: Ruper Hart Davis, 1959. First Edition. Octavo. Inscribed by the author dated Christmas 1961. 335 pages, index of plays, persons, subjects, and an appendix. Illustrated with a large number of detailed and lucid reconstructions drawn to the author's specifications by Nicolas Woo. Hotson found additional documents on the staging of Shakespeare's plays. Cosmic symbolism is fully developed and the illustrations especially drawn by Nicholas Wood show the results of one of the most important studies of the subject. A near fine copy bound in green cloth, spine lettering giltlight bumping to corners, in near fine unclipped pictorial dust jacket lettered in black, decorated in brown, spine lettering black and brown, spine toned. A very nice copy.
