Colophon is in Japanese & we have yet to have it translated, but the author states in her inscription, in silver ink on title page: "For Brandon Krall. The 1st Japanese Edition in English - Kate Millett." L. Brandon Krall was an American conceptual artist who passed in 2021. Very Good in lightly rubbed maroon cloth, spine lettering gilt, 393 pages. Dust-jacket is quite worn with missing bits at base and crown of spine, a few closed tears, general age-toning & sign of damp at base at rear. Else crisp and handsome, archival-mylar-protected. No instances in WorldCat. Edition quantity unknown. Rare this edition.
Synopsis
Sexual Politics is a classic feminist text written by Kate Millett, said to be "the first book of academic feminist literary criticism", and "one of the first feminist books of this decade to raise nationwide male ire". Based on her PhD dissertation, it was published in 1970. Millet argues that "sex has a frequently neglected political aspect" and goes on to discuss the role that patriarchy plays in sexual relations, looking especially at the works of D. H.
