About This Item

Boston: L.C. Page & Company, 1925. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Updating and expanding upon his Three Wonderlands of the American West (1912), Murphy attempts to convey a sense of the beauty and grandeur while telling of his various pilgrimages to Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, Glacier National Park, Crater Lake National Park, and the Petrified Forests of Arizona. A volume in L.C. Page's See America First series. Tall octavo: 352 p. with 32 color plates by Thomas Moran and Henry H. Bagg, 24 halftones from photographs, and 7 maps, including three folding. In a lovely brown cloth trade binding, with alpine designs stamped in gilt and dark green. Small bookseller's label to the rear pastedown. The spine is a touch faded, with a bit of wear to the corners and tips. Better than very good.
