Melbourne, Ward, Lock & Co, no date c. 1918. hard cover, patterned dark olive green cloth, gilt lettering, no dust jacket, 256pp, 8 black and white plates by J.Macfarlane, previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper, gift inscription to fixed front endpaper dated 27/10/19, front endpapers tanned, split to paper of hinge on back ends, binding still holding firm, gilt lettering on spine is quite rubbed, some pencilled inscription to rear endpaper is partly erased, cloth a little rubbed on spine ends, still a nice clean and tidy copy, very good. No ISBN
Synopsis
Seven Little Australians (1894) is a classic Australian children's novel by Ethel Turner. Set mainly in Sydney in the 1880s, it relates the adventures of the seven mischievous Woolcot children, their stern army father Captain Woolcot and flighty stepmother Esther. In 1994 the novel was the only book by an Australian author to have been continuously in print for 100 years.
