Seven Gothic Tales by Isak Dinesen, a first edition first issue, with scarce dust jacket and Evening Standard printers band.. Octavo, 522pp. Maroon cloth, title in gilt on spine. Stated "first published, September 1934" on copyright page. Toning to front interior end paper, internally clean. Seam in cloth on both covers, not appearing on other editions, likely to have occurred during publication. In scarce first edition dust jacket, with illustrations by Rex Whistler. Price on front flap, light toning to spine. Includes the exceptionally scarce Evening Standard belly band (printer's band). This work by Karen Blixen was published the same year as the First American Edition and includes the following acclaimed stories: The Deluge At Norderney, The Road Round Pisa, The Old Chevalier, The Monkey, The Supper At Elisnore, The Dreamers and The Poet.
