Portrait frontispiece with tissue-guard, facsimile of the author's handwriting, xix + 282pp, glossary. Edges somewhat foxed, bright red cloth covered boards stamped and lettered in gilt, in the original dustjacket with some chips, mainly to the head and tail of spine, now protected. Originally published in 1923. An attractive copy. 21.5 x 13.5cm. Account of the life and travels of Ghulam Rassul Galwan a Muslim from Ladak who worked for many years in the service of English and American travellers in the Himalayas, Central Asia and Tibet. The book is written in the idiomatic English used by the author and is designed to be read aloud to accomodate for his unusual style. An interesting account. .
