[5], vi-ix, [4], 2-144 pp. Navy blue cloth with publisher's device, twin horizontal rules, and lettering stamped in gold on the spine. Price of 18s. net on the front jacket's flap. Reconstructed from the manuscript notes by G. J. Warnock. Slater 25. Austin is one of the best-known philosophers in the ordinary language school and was extremely influential in the development of modern pragmatics. This book is a careful reconstruction of Austin's lectures on sense-preception based on several sets of notes prepared by Austin himself. Pencil annotations throughout; jacket's spine panel faded.
