William Fulbright" on the gray front free endpaper, 8vo, gray cloth with silver lettering and two decorative bits on front cover, archival mylar-protected photographic dust jacket (unclipped) with B&W portrait of Senator Fulbright, illustrated with 12 pages of glossy B&W photos, Index, gray endpapers, 378 pages. James William Fulbright (1905 - 1995) was an American politician, academic, and wise yet feisty statesman who represented Arkansas in the United States Senate from 1945 until his resignation in 1974. As of 2021, Fulbright was the longest serving chairman in the history of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. He is best known for his staunch multilateralist positions on international issues, opposition to American involvement in the Vietnam War, and the creation of the international fellowship program bearing his name, the Fulbright Program.<br/> <br/> SIGNED! Solid, clean copy without foxing or previous owner's markings. Dust jacket (unclipped) is quite bright with slight wear but a 3/4" V-chip lost from the bottom of its rear panel.
