Near Fine second printing of first edition softcover SIGNED by the author on the half title page. Minor edgewear to bottom front cover. Spine is straight and tight, not creased but there is a line up the spine that looks like a crease, maybe the beginnings of a crease. Otherwise a flawless volume: no markings (aside from Sarton's inscription and signature), creases, or tears. Not clipped, not ex lib, not remaindered.
