Signed by the author and presented to his sister, Eleanor Hobhouse. A collection of mystical writings by William Law, a Church of England priest who lost his position when his conscience would not allow him to take the required oath of allegiance to the first Hanoverian monarch, King George I. His mythic and theological writing greatly influenced the evangelical movement of his day as well as Enlightenment thinkers. Written by Stephen Hobhouse, a prominent English peace activist, prison reformer and religious writer. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the first and last few pages only. Very Good
