(1-2), title & verso; 3-(10), introduction and advertissemsnt; 1-624 pp.; 24mo; dark brown calf; 4 raised bands forming five compartments; spine lettered and decorated in gilt. Cover surface with cracking, bumped and rubbed at corner tips, with a thumb size spot rubbed through front cover; edges and prelims with soil, a splotch of ink, a doodle. Margin and leading edge of text torn out p. 639. Otherwise a solid copy. Text in French. Instruction on the French language including grammar, letter writing, etiquette, etc. .
