About This Item
New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1926. Cloth. Very Good. The uncommon 1926 1st American edition of this "complete history of alchemy, revealing the subject as much more than the attempts in early science of turning base metals into gold or silver". Solid and VG in its dark-blue cloth, with light wear along the spine ends, light rubbing at the panels and mild fading to the spine. Octavo, both the Preface and the text by the formidable scholarly mystic A.E. Waite (1857-1942).
