About This Item

Irish artist Kenneth Mahood was a lithographer and assistant art editor of Punch, the satirical magazine. He became a cartoonist and contributed to The Times, New Yorker, and other publications. This satirical look at Bloomsbury life is drawn from Mahood's grandmother's sketchbook of the time. She knew D.H. Lawrence, Freud, Rodin, and Bernard Shaw, and did sketches of them. Shows the quirky goings on of the time, in wonderful cartoons. Imaginative and clever.
