Boston: B. B. Russell, 1885. Baker spied for the Union during the Civil War and later was in charge of those tracking down Lincoln's assassins. Undated reprint, circa 1885; unusual imprint - the title page is a cancel. Hardcover, full grey cloth, gilt titling, black decoration. Light wear, corners a bit bumped & frayed; inner hinges partly split; pages tanned. Text clean; 12, [17]-398 pages (nothing missing, just odd pagination) + 2 pages ads for the original publisher's books circa 1873; wood-engraved illustrations, finely engraved frontispiece portrait.. Later Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 5¾" by 8".
