New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1932. Fairly solid copy of early printing of the first book in the Nancy Drew series. First printed in 1930, this is the 1932 printing with copyright page listing to Nancy's Mysterious Letter which was the 8th book in the series and printed in 1932. Thick blue cover with orange printing and silhouette of Nancy on front cover. Orange silhouette endpapers. Glossy frontis with three more glossy internal illustrations in the book. Five double sided sheets or pages of ads follow the end of the book lists to same title of the series Rear panel lists seven titles in the series ending with Nancy's Mysterious Letter. It leaves out The Clue in the Diary which was Book seven in the series. Book is well worn but not abused. Blue spine lightly sunned. Signature of former owner on second free endpaper. No other markings spotted. Red topstain still evident. Long neat tear at front pastedown just before it reaches hinge which is just starting to separate. Jacket has long tear along front fold but not separated. Chip at head of spine. Jacket this old is hard to find and front panel presents well. Light soiling to rear panel. In mylar. . Very Early Printing . Hardccover. Good/Good. Illus. by Russell H Tandy . 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
