London: The Grolier Society, 1904. SCARCE EDITION DE LUXE LIMITED TO 1,000 COPIES. Green cloth boards with paper title label which have age dulling to label else clean and unmarked with no wear. Internally there is a decorative bookplate of Partridges and monogram to front endpaper, age darkening to endpapers else very clean, tight and unmarked. Fore and lower edges uncut. Top edge gilt. A Very Good+ copy. Uniform with The Secret Court Memoirs series. Title page and etchings on Japan paper. Printed on Grolier watermarked quality paper. 403 pages. 6 very beautiful Original etchings / engravings, tissue protected - Madame de La Valliere - Photo-etching from a rare painting in Palais Royal, The Regent and His Mother-Photogravure from apainting by Pujol, Princess de Conti-Etching by Mercier from the painting by Nottier, 'Overturn Here, You Blockhead'-Photo-etching from an original drawing by Frank Merrill, Duchesse du Maine-Etching by Mercier, "Everybody Must Live" - Original Etching by Lalauze.
