Sub title: A True Account of Incidents that Happened Along the Old Santa Fe Trail in the Sixities. Frontispiece: Photo portrait of William H. Ryus. Ryus began travelling the Santa Fe Trail in 1861 as a mail driver, carrying passengers as well. Because of his intimate knowledge of Native American Indians, and his very genuine, friendly relations he enjoyed with them he earned the title "Second William Penn" from passengers and settlers, and Indians called him "Little Billy of the Stage Coach". This volume, rich with annecdotes, was written in the author's seventy-fourth year. Fine copy
