Wear to edges and corners, rear hinge cracked and holding, bookplate on front pastedown, dated inscription on flyleaf, boards soiled. Believed to be the 1905 printing based upon an ad in the back for Garis' "Isle of Black Fire" (1905) and the dated inscription (1905). Illus with 170 engravings. Photos on request.
Synopsis
In Search of the Castaways is a novel by the French writer Jules Verne, published in 1867-1868. The original edition, by Hetzel, contains a number of illustrations by Edouard Riou. In 1876 it was republished by George Routledge & Sons as a three volume set titled "A Voyage Round The World". The three volumes were subtitled "South America", "Australia", and "New Zealand".
