Collectible first edition, first printing of New York historian and noted suffragette Cornelia Frances Bedell's compilation of 15 sea creature verses color-illustrated by muralist Artno Wilbur Parsons. Bound in dark-green cloth with title-page illustration mounted to front panel. Printed on heavy stock. Of special note is a Parson's illustration featuring a helmet diver. Scarce. No other copies listed in commerce at the time of this posting. Only several copies showing in WorldCat library database. 47 pp. 9 1/4" x 7 1/4". Tight copy with several bumped extremities, light soiling to front panel illustration and ca. 1917 Christmas gift inscription to front free endpaper. Internal illustrations bright and vivid. Lightly age-toned leaves. A presentable copy of an early, devilishly scarce and beautiful children's book. Photographs of or additional information about this item are available on request.
