About This Item

I do not think this ex-library book was checked out often. Very little wear, duct jacket is encased in Mylar and near pristine. Other than the usual library marks, the pages are otherwise clean and bright. Set in 1906, wealthy Buenos Aires businessman, Max Barabander, distraught over the death of his son, returns to Warsaw where he spent his impoverished youth. From there he descends into debauchery and madness.

Synopsis

Isaac Bashevis Singer emigrated to New York from Poland in 1935 and found work with the Jewish Daily Forward. Author of many novels, collections of short stories, and books for children, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1978.
