This is a Very Good Copy of this book bound in cream leather by Zaehnsdorf with snowflake patterned design to the outer boards.The title label to spine is in dark brown moroccan with gilt lettering.Top edge of the book is in gilt.This is de luxe edition with light pink and white patterned marbled endpapers.There is a London bookseller's (F.H, Nutt) ink stamp to the bottom edge of the blank endpaper.Profusely illustrated work with some 107 black and white illustrations and there are five complete folding maps to the rear of the book one is a general map,the other is Mont Blanc,then The Matterhorn and it;s glaciers,plus the valley of Zermatt and the Valpelline and the Central Pennine Alps.There is an odd mark to outer boards,contents with some sporadic foxing but generally a very decent copy with a firm binding.The book was acquired from a former member of the Miountain Rescue Team based in Fort William,Thick and Heavy 8vo (xviii) b 468pp Fourth Edition De Luxe [1893] . Good. Hardcover. Fourth Edition. 1893.
