Large 8vo. xvi, 430 (1) pp, leaf protected tipped-in color frontis, list of leaf protected b&w tipped-in illustrations, preface, 25 chapters, appendix, index. 1/4" closed tear to top edge spine with slight edgewear and lightly rubbed boards. Hinge separated at half-title with foxing to recto, but does not effect the binding, else, no wear. Clean, tight and strong binding with no underlining, highlighting or marginalia. Light brown cloth with gilt lettering to spine and gilt top edge..
