London: Longman, Green, Longman, and Roberts, 1858. The new edition of Maunder's Encyclopedia of Science, Literature and the Arts. Octavo, bound in full contemporary calf with red morocco spine label lettered in gilt, raised gilt bands to the spine, gilt turn-ins and inner dentelles, all edges speckled red, frontispiece. In very good condition. English writer Samuel Maunder was the author of several books, most notably The Biographical Treasury. He compiled and issued numerous dictionaries, chiefly for educational purposes.
