DJ: Near Fine; NOT Price Clipped ($22.50); scattered bumping to panels. Blue cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine and oil derrek in gilt on front board. 152 p 8vo. Written by the daughter of Conrad, she gives the human side of the story of Conrad and Marcel Schlumberger, the inventors of electrical oil prospecting. Starting in a basement in Paris the potentiometer was developed and perfected at Pechelbronn, France's only oil field. Starting in 1919 she tells of the journey for her father and uncle and other geological researchers who worked in remote areas of the world to find oil with Schlumberger becoming a multinational corporation all based on a modest little black box that evolved into Aladdin's lamp. A clean very presentable copy.
