Austin: University of Texas Press, 1972. Book. Very Good +. Hardcover. First Edition/First Printing. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. A square solid tight very carefully read copy. This copy has some light foxing to the top edge of the text block, three small light see through stains near the spine on two pages, else fine. The priced jacket has some rubbing wear, edge wear and chipping along the top edge of the rear panel. This copy is one of 300 copies issued this being an unnumbered, unsigned example. Art work by the artist selected under the direction of John H. Lindsey, introduction by R. Henderson Shuffler, notes by the artist and John Edward Weeks. 140 plus pages..

Some terminology that may be used in this description includes:
- Chipping
- A defect in which small pieces are missing from the edges; fraying or small pieces of paper missing the edge of a paperback, or...
- Jacket
- Sometimes used as another term for dust jacket, a protective and often decorative wrapper, usually made of paper which wraps...
- Rubbing
- Abrasion or wear to the surface. Usually used in reference to a book's boards or dust-jacket.
- Text Block
- Most simply the inside pages of a book. More precisely, the block of paper formed by the cut and stacked pages of a book....
- Spine
- The outer portion of a book which covers the actual binding. The spine usually faces outward when a book is placed on a shelf....
- Tight
- Used to mean that the binding of a book has not been overly loosened by frequent use.
