Van Dine mysteries. Seventh Philo Vance mystery. Philo solves a murder in a private home that is also an Egyptian museum using his "unique psychological methods of detection." The book was adapted as The Scarab Murder Case (1936), which starred Wilfrid Hyde-White as Vance.<br /> <br /> S.S. Van Dine was the pseudonym of Willard Huntington Wright (1888 - 1939), a U.S art critic and author of murder mysteries. He created the immensely popular fictional detective Philo Vance, who first appeared in books in the 1920s, then in movies and on the radio.<br /> <br /> SUPERIOR CONDITION: Square, tight, bright, & clean copy.
