About This Item

VG+ or better stapled pictorial wraps, with what looks to be a coffee stain on back cover and fore-edge. With previously unpublished poems and letter excerpts by James Wright, printed with permission of his widow, Annie Wright. Hunter College English Department partially funded this issue in honor of Wright, the Pulitzer Prize winner who taught at Hunter and who died in 1980. Also contains work by William Stafford, Thomas Brush, and Beth Bentley, as well as a 14-page essay by Nicholas Gattuccio on the style of James Wright. Uncommon inaugural issue, with publicity slip laid in discussing issue No. 2.
