Prague: Frantisek Borovy, 1934 Octavo 21cm., wrappers, 208pp. Photomontage cover, typography & book design by Karel Teige. First edition of this popular and oft-republished collection of poems which was awarded a national prize in literature for the year, and the only one with Teige’s fine cover design and printed on superior paper. The last poem of this collection of „Farewell and Good-bye,“ the title work for the book inspired musical settings, the most celebrated of which is Vitezslava Kapralova’s masterpiece by the same title, was premiered in 1936 with the poet's blessing.
