RARE FIRSTS & ONLY EDITION Th e story of the ship wrecked Japanese Shimadzu Katto, who was rescued in the Northwest pacific from several indians by the crew of the Friendship." The only survivors were already taken as slaves by the Chinook indians. Shimadzu Katto was retaken by the Americans and taught English by the ship's crew. * The crew sailed to China, and was pirate by Malays. Shimadzu and an American were set adrift, and eventually got to Satsuma. They refused to be brow beaten by the local Jap- anese, but insisted on being brought to the Governor of Sat- suma.
