Francestown, New Hampshire: Marshall Jones Company Publishers, 1963 Hard cover, 8vo., First edition Thus of "revised edition" in blue cloth with gold design to front, title to spine. 279 pp. In unclipped dust jacket. Map endpapers of the Isles of Shoals off Kittery, Maine, home of the poet, "the lightkeeper's daughter." Condition: Very Good Plus. Ownership signature in ballpoint to ffep. Otherwise, clean bright and tight. D/j Very Good with some sunning to spine. The author is the granddaughter of the noted nineteenth century novelist and poet, Celia Thaxter (1835-1894). Included are many photographs and family reminiscences of her life around Boston, at her family's hotel on Appledore Island, and later in Europe. There are well-written sketches regarding her connections to other Boston-area literati, such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, and her regular correspondents Annie Fields and John Whittier. There are 21 of her poems included, 56 illustrations or photographs, and an index. First published in 1962, this is the revised and expanded edition. . "Revised Edition". Hard Cover.
