Meadville, PA: Keystone View Company, 1915. Stereoview. Albumen photograph [15.5 cm x 8 cm] on a curved gray Keystone mount [18 cm x 9 cm] with the title printed in black beneath in the margin. Image and mount in very good condition. Rear contains a short history of Salt Lake City and Utah. Image shows Main Street running north through Salt Lake with the Walker building at the center and the Salt Lake Temple in the background.
"The city was laid out in 1847 by the Latter-day Saints, or Mormons. This religious sect was organized in New York in 1830 by Joseph Smith. It was under the leadership of Brigham Young that Utah was settled. Here, in what had been desert country, they have built a wonderful commonwealth." - from the reverse.
