Amsterdam: anonymous, 1769. 1st Edition. Fine. Illustrated with five engraved plates after Le Prince and Gravelot, etched title-page fleuron, and vignettes by Choffard. Bound by Emile Rousselle in full brown crushed morocco, a.e.g., the spine with gilt titles, doublures of blue crushed morocco with wide gilt tooled dentelle border and oval corner medallions inlaid in brown morocco, marbled flyleaves. Front flyleaf cracked at inner joint, fingerprint size darker spot on upper cover, else fine. The rare, illustrated octavo edition. An elegant book with the leater bookplate of Cortland Bishop. Cortland Bishop was an early 20th century aviator and book collector. Fived raised bands on spine. Text in French.
