Hardcover Out-of-Print Book in Very Good Condition with a Fair Dust Jacket in Mylar jacket cover. The life and work of Augustus Saint-Gaudens, master sculptor--the mounted figure of General Sherman on the corner of 5th and 59th St in New York and the great bronze panel of marching men opposite the statehouse in Boston are examples of his work. Fifty-five b/w illustrations throughout. Very clean, unmarked, tight and solid book in tan full cloth with black panel on backstrap, gilt titled and gilt decorations. Square with sharp corners. Lower corner of text block slightly dusky and prev owner name on ffep, otherwise Fine. Jacket is clean, upper edge chipped with a piece 3/4x1/2: missing. Now has protective mylar cover. Unclipped jacket with illustrations of examples of Saint-Gaudens' work, on front and back. 419 pages including Chapter Notes and Index. 9.5 x 6.5 inches. 1969, Little Brown and Co, Boston, MA and Toronto, Canada.
