The first edition of this charming work on the Sahara. Written by Angus Buchanan based off his own experiences as an explorer and biologist, and his travels in the desert. With chapters on the journey: the ship to the desert; the City of Shadows; Salt of the Earth; &c.; and on the fauna and civilisation. Illustrated with numerous photographs, sketches, and a map. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and some bumping to the head and tail of the spine, as well as some fading and soiling to the spine. With a minor previous ownership signature to the front free endpaper, dated 1926. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with only minor offsetting to the endpapers. Illustrated with numerous photographs, sketches, and a map. Collated, complete. Very Good
