About This Item
Coloniae Agrippinae (Cologne): Corn ab Egmond, 1644. In full brown calf, with gilt stamped decoration to spine and gilt banding to boards. Title on red morocco label to spine. In Latin. Complete with beautiful copper engraved title page and the three full-page plates depicting Popes Paul III, Julius III and Pius IV. Boards are rubbed, particularly to corners - but still very good. Gilt is still all bright. Delightful engraved ex-libris bookplate to front pastedown, from Bibliothèque Congregation de Notre-Dame des Oiseaux, Paris. Neatly written in ink, the letters A.E. to top right of title page. Limited foxing. Some historic neat ink notes made to a few pages. Last leaf and blank pages at rear have tiny worm damage. Overall, a very good copy. 328, LXIX [28] pp. 135 x 85 mm (5¼ x 3¼ inches). 328, LXIX [28] p. 135 x 85 mm
