New York, New York, U.S.A.: Cupples & Leon, 1921. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Groundbreaking series about a young orphan girl who eventually comes to head her own motion picture company in the early decades of the 20th century, laying the groundwork for other children's series featuring strong female leads. This was Vol. #17 in the series (out of 30 total books), & is a First Edition slightly later printing (listing to book #23 in rear) from 1921. Hardcover has light tan cloth-covered boards with the red & blue design of a girl in a midi blouse & skirt with book on front cover, in 206 pages + 6 pages of ads in rear, glossy frontispiece. Condition is VG: very clean, pages creamy white with moderate tanning, but unmarked. Binding strong & straight, rubbing to extremities, bumped corners. Light soiling/foxing to outside page edges, small dent to top such pages. The clipped DJ is also VG, with modest rubbing to extremities & small chips at both ends of spine; colors bright & unfaded.
