Spine title in black; spine area slightly darkened with minor wear and soiling to crown and foot. Illustrated dust jacket, significant loss to spine and hinge edges; however presence of a full jacket this age is rare. Pages untrimmed with some age staining to edges and thumb marks. Former owner's name in ink on front free fly. Illustrated with 32 B/W plates from reproductions. Printed on fine paper; in good condition for its age. very good Rare in translation and dust jacket. A survey of Russian art by one of the foremost Russian artists of the time. Alexander Benois was involved with the "World of Art" group in St. Petersburg and wrote extensively on the history and questions of Russian art. His associates include Mikhail Diaghalev and Valentine Somov. A very interesting, artfully produced edition. 1916
