Deckled pages near fine, sharp. Antiquarian stamp at front, back endpapers: "Arthur A. DeLoach Jr. 1974 Royal Court, Chamblee, Georgia, 30341". Arthur DeLoach was an architect and worked with several renowned architects and engineers in Atlanta, including John Portman, where he spent seven years working on the Peachtree Center, the Hyatt Regency, the Gas Light Tower, and the Embarcadero Center in San Francisco. Bind fine; hinges intact. Original dust wrapper, slight wear; unclipped 6.95, protected in new clear sleeve. Stylized dj with block letters on red and gold fields at cover and spine. Back panel features photo of Alinsky w/KKK in garb picture in b.g. and review quotes below. Near fine original in same wrapper. The final book by activist and University of Chicago alumnus shortly before his death. His objective was to create a guide for "community organizers" in impoverished inner cities, etc., for the "Have-Nots" and those representing them, to be utilized and organized. Alinsky compiled tactics learned while organizing from 1939-1971 and targeted the current generation of disaffected. Divided into ten chapters of techniques of binding people together to effect change and disruption. Synopsis

Rules for Radicals: A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals is the last book written by community organizer Saul D. Alinsky before his death in 1972. Published in 1971, it was Alinsky's attempt to impart his theory and methods of organizing to the current generation of young activists, largely drawing upon his own experiences. Alinsky wrote in the book's prologue: "What I have to say in this book is not the arrogance of unsolicited advice.
