London: Bernard Quaritch, 1868 Second edition. xviii,30 pp. Small Quarto. (21.1 X 16.5 cm.) Bound in 19th century full polished green morocco by Proudfoot of Euston Square. Gilt title and date on the spine. Spine slightly sunned. Gilt dentelles on both boards. Top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers. Text block clean. 15 extra blank leaves inserted at the back to take up space. An interesting armorial bookplate on the front past down. A later bookplate on the verso of the front free endpaper. A very attractive, near fine copy. This second edition of 500 copies was substantially revised and expanded from the first edition of 1859. Quaritch initially sold the book for 1s.6d but over time interest and demand increased so the book was listed in their catalogue for over 50 Pounds. The second edition is the longest version Fitzgerald produced of 110 quatrains. Potter 129. A very scarce and important edition. 1868
