About This Item

London: George Routledge and Sons, 1866. 93pp, [3], (printed on rectos only). Contemporary full morocco, raised bands, spine in six panels, title in gilt to second panel, remaining panels with volute corner pieces and central lozenge-shaped tool, covers with multiple rolls and panels inside a triple fillet of varying thicknesses as a border. Rubbed to extremities, corners bumped, outer joints rubbed with a couple of small splits, black mark to upper cover. Internally lightly foxed throughout, occasionally heavier, but fairly bright. Inner hinges cracked and slightly weak, but holding well, slight movement in text block when laid flat. Attractive hand-drawn and coloured presentation dedication to ffep, the bookplate of Percival F. Hinton to front-pastedown, from the library of Eric Quayle (though no evidence of this). First Edition. Full Morocco. Good. Illus. by Dalziel Brothers. 4to.
