Los Angeles: Paramount Pictures, 1968. Vintage program for the 1968 film. Laid in with the program are ten reference photographs from the film, including eight black-and-white and two color.
The classic story of two star-crossed teenagers whose romance reconciles the long-lived feud between their families. Director-screenwriter Franco Zeffirelli's production was the first film to cast actors who were actually close to the noted age of the characters in the Shakespearean play. Nominated for four Academy Awards and winning two, making it the last Shakespeare adaptation to be nominated for Best Picture to date.
Set in Italy, shot on location in various locations throughout Montagna, Gubbio, Rome, Tuscania, and Pienza, Italy.
Program: 9 x 12 inches. 16 leaves, side stapled. Near Fine in wrappers, lightly rubbed.
Photographs: Ranging in size from 3.5 x 5 inches to 7.5 x 9 inches. Near Fine. Housed in a Very Good plus transparent envelope.
