London: J M Dent and sons, 1904. First (large paper) edition, limited to 150 copies (this is copy number 14). 4to (30cm by 22cm), xvii, 384pp. 51 colour plates by Aubrey Waterfield, 31 reproductions of paintings and sculpture, text illustrations. Original white cloth, gilt titling and elaborate gilt design to the front board and the spine, top edge gilt. There is some slight darkening of the spine, a bookplate to the front pastedown, the endpapers are browned, and there is some chipping of the front free endpaper; overall, this book is in good to very good condition.
