Boston, MA: Little Brown & Co., 1897. [American Topography] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.[4] 221 [5]. With numerous in-text engravings by the author, as well as a frontispiece and vignette title page. Contemporary Art-Nouveau style binding of green full morocco, with gilt titles and decoration to spine, and some extra gilt decoration to upper. All edges gilt, and gilt dentelle to turn-ins. Gilt and purple printed floral endpapers. Internally crisp and clean, with a pencil ownership to half-title. Spine quite heavily toned to a light brown colour, with some wear to joints and corners. Very good. A topographical tour of the New England coast by bicycle, by the esteemed American illustrator.
