About This Item

London: The Reader’s Library, n.d. [1930]. First English Photoplay Edition. An editor’s preface describes and praises the the early Technicolor MGM picture, now assumed lost. Lewton’s novelization was published during his employment in New York, where his job was to produce such tie-ins. His career in Hollywood was still more than a decade in the future. Pages a little yellowed as usual, hinges broken as to be expected in such a cheaply made book, else near fine (such as that is) in a lightly used dust jacket with a faded spine. The front panel depicts a scene from the film.
