Foreword by Robinson Jeffers. Decorations by Rockwell Kent. Designed and printed by Ward Ritchie. First edition, first issue, 1 of 750 published. A unique and highly collectible copy. Although not called for, this copy signed and inscribed by Robinson Jeffers at front Jeffers photograph (Carmel, 1935); signed and inscribed to Mel Smith by publisher Ward Ritchie at colophon; signed and inscribed by Primavera Press by Jake Zeitlin on title page; signed and inscribed to Mel Smith by author Lawrence Clark Powell on title page. Small book label from Lilienthal, San Francisco on rear paste-down. Unused "Bookfellows" label / bookmark laid-in. Also laid-in is the original Primavera Press prospectus for the book.
