This catalog was prepared to accompany the traveling exhibition that started at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York from December 2005 to April 2006. After that the exhibition went to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, and finally the Moderna Museet in Stockholm from February to May of 2007. Exhibition organized by Paul Schimmel. Essays by Charles Stuckey, Thomas Crow, Branden W. Joseph, and Schimmel. Afterword by Pontus Hulten. Illustrated with many color plates.
