A first edition copy of this interesting biography of Victorian author Robert Louis Stevenson. With thirty one plates, including one folding plate, collated and complete. Eve Blantyre Simpson was a prolific biographer, but also wrote a book about the folklore of lowland Scotland. With four pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. In the publisher's original buckram binding. Externally, lovely. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with sporadic patches of light foxing within the volume and to the fore edge of the text block. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
