New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, 1966. Hardcover. Two volumes only (out of three). Small 4to. Brown cloth. xxvi, 641pp; xxii, 744pp. Illustrations. Very good. First edition of the first two volumes, clean and tight and attractive -- a mild and discreet ex-library set, with very few markings (NO markings whatsoever on the spines) and only the slightest trace of edgewear. Each front pastedown has tipped to it a handsome 3½" X 2" printed "Compliments / of the / AUTHOR" card.
