Bacon was an American statesman and diplomat, who served as United States Secretary of State and Ambassador to France. Boards and spine show shelf wear. This is an ex-library copy from the Sturgis Library in Barnstable, Massachusetts, the oldest library building in the country. Ex-library marks include small white letter on spine, bookplate from 1924, and stamps. Newspaper book review from the November 17, 1923 Boston Evening Transcript is tucked inside the book.
